About this position:
At GeistM, our content and creative team is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to enhance our social efforts across our publisher brands, including Popdust and GeistM. This role will expand to include additional brands as our social media footprint grows. Ideal for a self-starter who is good at multitasking, has a pulse on what's trending, and has experience creating social content for different brands. The position involves developing, posting and analyzing creative social media content that increases our online presence, engages our audiences, and drives more eyes to our sites.
To be successful in this role, you should be a creative individual who has experience growing social followings (especially for publications) and has a passion for supporting writers and fellow creators.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create engaging social media creatives and copy for Popdust and GeistM, as well as our other publisher brands across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Collaborate with the Organic/Affiliate team to determine which articles to publish and repurpose, packaging articles to feel native to each platform without sacrificing editorial voice and integrity.
- Help bring our publications to life on social platforms, growing the accounts, building engagement and increasing reader loyalty.
- Utilize tools like Canva and CapCut to create engaging social content.
- Daily social monitoring and regular reporting of content performance and key learnings.
- Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications.
- Build and foster meaningful interactions with audiences on social platforms to enhance engagement and community building.
- Collaborate with the Creative team with the creation of client paid social assets as needed.
Requirements:
- 1 - 2 years of relevant social media marketing experience, previous publisher experience a plus.
- Proven track record of creating engaging social/video content (portfolio required).
- Strong ideation and brainstorming skills with a deep understanding of creating social content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for graphic/video design best practices.
- A keen trendspotter with a passion for social trends, pop culture, and current events.
- Experienced in using Canva, CapCut or similar for social content creation.
- Experience using social media scheduling tools.
- Excellent copywriting skills with a flair for crafting engaging, brand-aligned content.
- Good understanding of social media KPIs and web traffic metrics.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- B.A. in Marketing, Communication, or a relevant field.
- Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics is a plus.
- Knowledge of WordPress is a plus.
- Paid social experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
